Jennifer Lopez Awarded $545,000 From Ex-Husband

Just in case J-Lo needed more money she has been awarded $545,000 from ex-husband Ojani Noa, 33. The 38-year-old Hollywood actress-singer filed a lawsuit to stop her ex from publishing a tell-all book about their marriage. Jennifer Lopez sued her former husband claiming the book would violate a previous agreement not to reveal details about their marriage. In a Los Angeles courtroom, arbitrator Richard Chernick agreed with the breach of contract lawsuit.

In a written ruling handed down, the lawsuit forbids Noa from "criticizing, denigrating, casting in a negative light or otherwise disparaging" Jennifer Lopez. Jennifer's 33-year-old Cuban-born ex-husband also was ordered to hand over to Jennifer Lopez all materials related to the almost published book. Arbitrator Richard Chernick, stated, "The book proposal clearly contains material that violates the terms referenced in the divorce settlement agreement." Jennifer Lopez' lawsuit alleged Ojani Noa, who used to be head chef at Jennifer's "Madre's" restaurant, had offered not to publish the book in exchange for 5 million dollars. If true, that in itself sounds like blackmail to me. Noa has since quit Lopez' restaurant. The almost published book claims Jennifer Lopez had multiple affairs during their marriage in 1997 and also has had affairs on her other ex-husband Cris Judd and her current husband Marc Anthony. Lopez is currently starring in the August 3, 2007 release of "El Cantante" with her husband Marc Anthony. Lopez, who is worth an estimated $110 million dollars was awarded almost $300,000 in attorney fees, $200,000 for breach of contract and almost $48,000 in court costs.
